Navigate to the
GeM Portal
and click on ‘Seller/Service Provider’ within the ‘Sign-up’ section
designated for New Users.

Buyer/Organization Type Selection:
Choose the type of entity from options such as Proprietorship, Firm,
Company, Trust/Society/Association of Persons, and Central
Government/State Government.

Business Information Submission:
Provide essential business details including Business Name,
Registered Address, Registration Certificate, Contact Information,
Corporate Identification Number (CIN), PAN, GST Certificate, Income
Tax Returns (ITR) of the last 3 years, Bank Account Details, and
Authorized Signatory Information.

Personal Information Input:
Input personal details such as Aadhar Number, Mobile Number linked
with Aadhar Card, PAN Number, Name as per PAN Card, and Date of
Birth.

GeM caution money. The caution money varies based on the seller's
turnover and is categorized as follows:

Exemption - Sellers like SHG, Artisans,
Weavers, MSE Women and MSE (SC/ST) are exempted from the Caution Money
The GeM caution money account, a sub-account of the GeM
Account, is exclusively used for depositing caution money. No
additional documentation or KYC is required to open this account.
Sellers can easily track their transactions through the
Seller Caution Money Dashboard on the GeM portal.
GeM may forfeit caution money partially or fully in the following
cases:

Refusal or failure to accept Direct Purchase or L-1 Purchase orders
within the specified timelines.

Inability to meet contractual obligations under the GeM contract.
- Withdrawal of bids during their validity period.

Failure to provide the required Performance Security or
Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) as per e-bid or Reverse
Auction terms.
This system ensures compliance and accountability for sellers on the

The GeM transaction charges for sellers are structured based on the

- Orders with a value less than or equal to ₹10 lakh.
