The GeM caution money account, a sub-account of the GeM Account, is exclusively used for depositing caution money. No additional documentation or KYC is required to open this account. Sellers can easily track their transactions through the Seller Caution Money Dashboard on the GeM portal.

GeM may forfeit caution money partially or fully in the following cases:

  1. Refusal or failure to accept Direct Purchase or L-1 Purchase orders within the specified timelines.
  2. Inability to meet contractual obligations under the GeM contract.
  3. Withdrawal of bids during their validity period.
  4. Failure to provide the required Performance Security or Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) as per e-bid or Reverse Auction terms.

GeM Transaction Charges

The GeM transaction charges for sellers are structured based on the order value:

  2. Orders received before reaching the ₹20 lakh total sales value of threshold.
